Welcome to the home page for Cumberland Branch of the American Association of University Women.

We are the local unit of this nationwide organization.

Mission statement: AAUW seeks to promote education and equity for women and girls, self-development throughout the lifespan and positive societal change.

Anyone having a Bachelor's degree or higher is eligible for membership.

Diversity Statement: In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. Membership is not by invitation.

Our local meetings are usually held on the third Monday of the month, from September to June - excluding January. Meeting places vary.

We also award an annual scholarship to a female graduate of Cumberland County College who will be continuing her studies toward her Bachelor's degree.

We also donate a savings bond to the young woman who places highest in the annual Cumberland County College Science Fair.

We have also presented Cumberland Branch t-shirts to some top female high school seniors in the county.
